The Center for Medical Consumers is a member organization of CONSUMERS UNITED FOR EVIDENCE-BASED HEALTHCARE (CUE), a pioneering effort started in 2003, which unites consumer advocates with a common interest in integrating understanding and interpretation of evidence-based healthcare (EBHC) into their advocacy activities. The US COCHRANE CENTER (USCC) is the scientific partner of CUE and is one of 12 Centers around the world that support contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration producing systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions. Their Web site http://www.cochrane.us provides free access to the abstracts and plain language summaries of these reviews. The COCHRANE CONSUMER NETWORK (CCNET) provides free access to an online course for consumer advocates called “Understanding Evidence-Based Healthcare: A Foundation for Action” and a video called “What is the Cochrane Collaboration?” Both are available at http://apps1.jhsph.edu/cochrane/uscccc.htm
