What follows are reports the volume of Single and Multiple Vessel Percutaneous Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) procedures performed in New York State in 2002. PTCA typically involves the insertion of a balloon catheter into a coronary artery to reduce the obstruction. The report aggregates all of the individual records that contain the ICD-9 Codes 36.01, 36.02 and 36.05 in any procedure field. The total number of reported procedures is 41,887.
